About Us
Who are we?
We are Alex and Jess, we’ve been together for over 10 years and got married in Belize in 2016. We’ve done the whole living, studying, working, playing in the city thing and we are now on a quest to broaden our horizons and find a new way of life.
We try to travel as conscientiously as possible, taking a common sense approach. We aim to choose off the beaten track adventures, support local communities and families, respect the environment, keep our footprint to a minimum and eat local and healthy food.

I love organising things, poking around dusty old ruins and cats. My voice will most often be heard in the more factual posts telling you how to, erm, organise things, what the dusty old history is and how many cats can be found in the vicinity! I’ve also recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease which means that the blog will be serving up some gluten free (but hopefully not joy free!) travel wisdom in the near future.

I love being surprised by unexpected beauty and I am mainly interested in the social aspects of the places we visit i.e. local culture, habits. When you read something clever, articulate, erudite, or witty in one of our posts you know that it is mine! I am the chief photographer and I carry my faithful Nikon D7100 wherever I go. I like to think of myself as a budding photographer, an avid reader, and a self-professed deep thinker. I also love trying new foods (unless they are gluten free!) and trying local beers. But most of all I don’t like writing about myself.
Hello, Alex! I like your site. I am curuous why you call yourself a “self-professed deep thinker”.
